Left my footprints on:

  • Taoyuan Airport :(
  • Hong Kong International Airport
  • The Cityview (formerly YMCA)
  • Shopping centres/streets around Jordan MTR station

Experienced:

  • As if yesterday's mishap (forgetting to lock) was not enough, I actually dropped the breakfast vouchers onto the floor and no one noticed haha. Only realised they are missing when we are near the restaurant. Fortunately no one picked the up!
  • The im-gonna-miss-taiwan syndrome.
  • The shock when I stepped into the Cityview's room: the total size is probably less than one-third of yesterday's room. Then again, it's HK :P
  • Really hard to find a toilet. Luckily there's a KFC about 300m away.
  • Missed Taiwanese' way of welcoming you which sounded like "光临"
  • Experienced really good and terrible service in the same night :|
  • I became a walking discount coupon. Bought a Timbuk2 bag at 30% student discount by showing..my face 8)
  • Difficult to find clothes of my size. AH!

Left my footprints on:

  • Vigor Kobo (維格餅家) pastry shop
  • National Palace Museum
  • A feng shui store
  • Five Cent/Dime Driftwood House.
  • Martyr's Shrine (忠烈祠)
  • Taipei 101
  • 自由广场
  • Xi men ding (西门町)
  • Chinatrust Executive House Hsin-tien Hotel Taipei
  • Shilin Night Market(士林夜市)

Experienced:

  • Depressing morning rain.
  • Tasty and good-looking pineapple tarts with a little egg yolk and tried some curry pastry.
  • A blurred experience in the National Palace Museum. No photo-taking, speedy tour, no memories.
  • Geomancer calculated my element without my birth time(时辰). He calculated a different element from my previous in-depth reading. He calculated the number of strokes in my name too, but at that point of time we couldn't agree on the number of strokes in 毅. In the end he tried to sell me an Oynx Pi Xiu (貔貅) which looked like this:
  • Had lunch at Five Dime Driftwood House, which resemble some of the characteristics of the famous Spanish architect, Antoni Gaudi.
  • Witnessed a changeover parade of the guards at the Martyr's Shrine. (There's a short video clip in the slideshow at the end)
  • The shopping mall at Taipei 101 felt like Raffles City.
  • A lone Falungong (法轮功) practitioner at 自由广场.
  • "西门町女孩子走来走去,看得我眼珠子转来转去." - 你别傻了by 刘德华 & 周俊伟
  • Our hotel room at Chinatrust is like a chalet - with kitchen, fridge, living room, dining table, etc
  • On day 2, we locked ourselves out. Today it's the opposite (or worse), we forgot to lock the door and left it for a couple of hours! Doors in this hotel do not lock automatically. We didn't lose anything fortunately.
  • Bought the single trip ticket to Shilin night market via their MRT. The ticket is actually a small coin-shaped token. When returning, slot in the token into the coin slot on the gantry.

  • Seeing a petrol station at least 1000m above ground.
  • The cold breeze at Alishan - at least 2300m above ground.
  • Half-drenched at 2300m above ground.
  • Eating wasabi nuts (Japan imports large amount of naturally-cultivated wasabi from Alishan).
  • Seeing 三兄弟 and 四姐妹 on Alishan. Got 十八罗汉?
  • The people from Thao tribe (邵族) can speak Malay. Tour guide said that in this tribe, it is the women who work. Fancy a life there?
  • Sunset at Sun Moon Lake.
  • Eating shabu shabu for dinner in Feng Chia night market. Pretty bad.
  • Walking around in Feng Chia night market was an experience. 8)
  • Knowing the gates of Feng Chia University is located in the night market itself.
  • One of the girls selling clothes on the street is exceptionally pretty...
  • Sharing a cab with 4 other peeps and realised that a Toyota Camry isn't that big.
